The Urological Society of Qatar is dedicated to promoting excellence in the field of urology through education, research, and advocacy. We aim to enhance patient care, advance urological knowledge, and support our members in their professional development.

To be recognized as the leading voice of urology in Qatar, driving improvements in urological health, shaping health policy, and raising public awareness about urological conditions.

The Urological Society of Qatar was founded in 2023, arising from the collective ambition of Qatar’s leading urologists to create a platform for professional development, knowledge exchange, and patient advocacy. The establishment of USQ marked a significant milestone in Qatar’s medical landscape, providing a dedicated society for the advancement of urological practices, research, and education within the country and beyond.

Our Committees

For the effective functioning and to fulfill its mission, USQ proposes to establish the following committees:

Education and Training Committee

Focuses on providing continuous medical education, workshops, and seminars for members.

Research Committee

Dedicated to fostering research in urology, facilitating collaborative studies, and disseminating findings.

Patient Advocacy and Public Education Committee

Aims to raise public awareness about urological health, promote early detection, and support patient advocacy.

Membership Committee

Responsible for recruitment, retention, and engagement of society members.

Ethics and Professional Standards Committee

Ensures the maintenance of the highest ethical standards and professional conduct among members.

Chairman of the Society

Dr. Abdulla R. Al-Naimi

Dr. Abdulla Rashid Al-Naimi, a senior consultant urologist at Hamad General Hospital, has made significant contributions to the field of urology over two decades. Specializing in complex clinical governance, Dr. Al-Naimi is renowned for his dedication to advancing medical education and research. His leadership was instrumental during the COVID-19 pandemic, notably as the Director of Lebsayyer Field Hospital. Dr. Al-Naimi’s commitment extends beyond clinical excellence, involving substantial roles in health policy development and clinical teaching.

Deputy Chairman

Dr. Khalid R. Al-Rumaihi

Dr. Khalid Rashid Al-Rumaihi, the Head of the Urology Section and Urgent Consultation Center at Hamad Medical Corporation, is a respected figure in urology, having trained extensively in Sweden and across Europe. His expertise particularly in minimally invasive surgical techniques and his leadership role in developing urgent teleconsultation services highlight his commitment to innovation in patient care and medical training.

Secretary

Dr. Hanaa M. Al-Hothi

Dr. Hanaa Al-Hothi, a consultant in urology, serves as the Head of the Dynamic Voiding Difficulties Unit at Hamad Medical Corporation. She has been instrumental in advancing the treatment of urinary incontinence, offering both surgical and non-surgical options tailored to individual needs. Dr. AlHothi has over 12 years of experience in managing complex urinary disorders, with a special focus on holistic patient care. Her commitment to multidisciplinary collaboration and patient education underscores her dedication to improving urological health outcomes in Qatar.

Treasurer

Dr. Ahmad H. Al-Malki

Dr. Ahmad Hassan Al-Malki serves as the Head of the Male Infertility Unit at Hamad Medical Corporation. With a rich background in Andrology and Male Infertility, including advanced fellowships in Canada, Dr. Al-Malki is a pioneer in his field. His clinical focus is complemented by his role as an Associate Program Director of Urology Residency, shaping future specialists in urology.

Dr. Khalid Al-Jalham, currently the CEO and Medical Director of the Ambulatory Care Center at Hamad Medical Corporation, has a profound expertise in Uro-Oncology and minimally invasive surgery. His leadership extends to the integration of clinical services, research, and education, aiming to elevate patient care standards within Qatar’s healthcare system.

Dr. Khalid Jassim Al-Kubaisi, a consultant in Urology, Andrology, and Male Infertility at Hamad Medical Corporation, is known for his significant contributions to the field, particularly in endourology. His leadership roles include Head of the Andrology Unit and extensive involvement in academic and examination committees, reflecting his dedication to medical education and clinical excellence.
